On May 31, 2019 the Pasteur Elementary School Alumni Foundation sponsored the first Paula Marks Kalt B u tt e r f l y Release. The Butterfly Project was renamed to honor the memory of Paula Marks Kalt who created the program for Pasteur students.
Every Spring our Foundation gives each class a butterfly cage and larvae from which to watch, study and learn with their teachers. The entire school gathered outside on a sunny May 31 to release all the butterflies amid screams of joy. The Marks and Kalt families were on hand to watch the release.
Cary Levy chairs this project in memory of our beloved board member. Paula is missed by friends, family, and staff who knew her well (Paula, top, on Earth Day 2018.)
EARTH DAY
We celebrated Earth Day with 16 volunteers visiting the classes. They read appropriate books for discussions on ways to save the Earth. Each student received flower seeds to plant. They also decorated cardboard paper rolls and flats to create a large mobile for the school to visualize how waste can be recycled and reused into art.
Please help us plan for next year’s programs with a generous donation!!
Please send checks to the address at left.
Thank you!
